Local Cricket...

Post by Alby on Thu Mar 06, 2014 9:34 pm

Saturday is the last of the season games.... then finals begin.
We have already won our game (last Saturday... 133 to their 81) We will bat for 10 overs. Hopefully get another 60 or 80 runs then have another dig at them. Might get an outright win which gives us more points and higher on the ladder.
My batting form has been only average... sign of old age I think. Might not make the side.... not overly worried about it.

I'll need that wheelchair now.
Had to wicketkeep yesterday !!
No catches and only 1 bye .

We got the outright win . Had to chase only 5 runs in the 2nd innings. Good way to finish the home and away season.
Now for finals !!

Yes Dave.
Got 3 flags on the belt.
All very special and hard fought too. I remember each one.
A lot more losses though !

That's why i don't have a problem giving up my spot in the team. There was a time when I was the only one who wanted to open. Now there is 3. Same with the keeping job. My batting form has been down in previous games as well.
It's weird I know but now I play to play... if that makes sense. Finals don't mean as much to me as they used to.
I've played with guys who have never played in a finals game ! let alone won a flag. So I'm more happy for them.
I could talk for hours ... Love the game
