slow scanning in windows explorer

Post by startreksuite on Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:02 am

Hi everyone!
I am stumped what has happend to windows explorer in my windows7 64bit laptop recently. sometimes after converting files, or moving some files around windows explorer has all the folders on the left disappear, and the left hand side folders have a magnifying glass on them, which seem to be scanning for something.
Here is a screenshot of what I'm describing.

If I restart my computer this goes back to normal, and this doesn't always happen. Does anyone know what the culprit may be, or a solution?
Thanks in advance. confused

Thanks satrat! But I have access to all my folders (nothing is locked away). It's just that sometimes it's as if my computer is searching for the files on it, which is why there is the files and places listed above have a magnifying glass on them.
