Slysoft > Redfox

Hi Smile
How I see it.

Slysoft were for a long time untouchable.
But IMO dwindling income due to users increasingly streaming etc.
Rising fines.
The money man had enough.
Hence the collapse of Slysoft.
Hail the rise of RedFox.
Will it be any different?
Can it last?
Truth is no-one really knows.
However, RedFox sums appear to be a mistake.
That is if it is going to last any worthwhile time.

Why is this?
One of the queries regarding Slysoft finances. Were the LTL (LifeTimeLinces).
One can see that a regular income (maybe annually) is better than a one off fee.
Competitive pricing isn't a strong point either.
One particular competitor is offering BD copy+ripper* for almost half the cost of AnyDVD HD alone.
These particular programs needs no additional decryter.

Forgotten the loyal.
RedFox in the early days (isn't it still) led those who had a LTL to believe. They would get some sort of preference over newbies.
Whilst I can see this would be logistically near impossible.
It is not happening.
No explanation or apology from the RedFox team.

Hang on Slysoft has other software.
Take a look.
Only RedFox CloneCD & CloneDVDmobile**.
CloneBD & CloneDVD are the property of Elby.
(Should perhaps mention the freeware - Virtual CloneDrive (Elby) & ReClcok.
Competition here is rife.
Most of which leaves both RedFox & Elby floundering behind.
In terms of performance & pricing.

Finally returning to Slysoft/RedFox & the jewel in the crown.
I may be wrong, but the only updates to come forth under the RedFox have been to address the database & test the new licencing.
There are programs that appear to be well on the way to defeat "Cinavia".
Which would make AnyDVD HD with its "fool the software player" redundant.

Only the demise of Slysoft made me aware that:
A: Rarely used it.
B: Probably didn't need it.

*LifeTimeLicence TOO!
**Will these RedFox programs go through the same (now infamous) "licence not valid" requiring new purchases to fund any significant updates?

How many Slysoft / RedFox followers have noticed no protection updates for AnyDVD HD for nearly 2 months.
In the "good old days" that would be unheard of.

P.S. The three versions of 8..... have been related to tested out stuff like future registrations etc.

v8.0.1.0
- New (Blu-ray): Support for new discs
- New (DVD): Support for new discs
Hi Smile
I can't be 100%.
But I was still in with some of the "in crowd"* @ that forum.
Led to believe it had more to do with fixes relating to new OPD.

* No longer a Mod there.
Difference of opinion with Ivan.

I don't rip anything that often. But not sure I want to invest in RedFox. Don't know their commitment, the players involved. Wondering if SlySoft was in danger and this is just a new business ploy to generate revenue. As Zebs stated, streaming is the rage these days. I do it (well my kids do on my dime).

I've had a AnyDVD (HD) LTL for a number of years, however, don't think I will be buying a RedFox license. I never got into copying Blu-Ray. I'm strictly a 1Click guy and the DVD43 Plug-in works just fine. Wink

If I buy a license, I'll only buy CloneCD.

Hi Smile
Like I say, just MHO here.
The software I refer to isn't DVDFab by the way.

As for updates for CloneCD, not sure . Other than needing some link to RedFox for licencing. What else can you do?
CloneDVDmobile may get updates alongside the RedFox linking.
But seriously lags behind others in this field.

P.S. I believe the RedFox linking bit has already happened.
Could be wrong. Wink

Updates to CloneCD & CloneDVDmobile will come when the RF Project have got up to par with everything.

When it comes to AnyDVD's 'opponent', DVDFab Passkey so can i say that it's far behind AnyDVD when it comes to BD 'cracking'. DVD's is ok though.
