Post by leseil612 on Mon Apr 20, 2015 6:34 pm

I have been using Google Chrome for quite some time and have been generally happy with it however for the past week my avast software has started going mad every time I start up and every few minutes all the time I am using chrome. Stating thar malware has been detected. I saved the pop-up alert using the snipping tool but the hosting avenue could not read it. I an thinking of returning to Firefox. Any thoughts guys.

Google Chrome is nothing but a damn spyware by itself. There r many chromium based browsers out there if u wanna keep using a chromium based one. My vote for a chromium based browser goes to 'Comodo Dragon'. The new v42 will hopefully be released @ the end of the month.

Firefox + some security related extensions = Secure Browser Wink

Disable WebRTC in Firefox

WebRTC in Mozilla Firefox is partially supported since Firefox 22, and it's enabled by default.

To disable WebRTC in Firefox, go to about:config and toggle 'media.peerconnection.enabled' to 'false'.

Thank you Henrik, sorry for the delay in replying to your excellent contribution. The problem was that the garden needs so much attention at this time of year that I have not been into my computer cave for a few days. Incidentally as I am writing this the voice from my Avast has said, quote "Threats have been detected" twelve times, I am definitely leaving Google Chrome. Thanks again.

YW m8 Smile

RL stuff tends 2 get in the way a lot of times Wink

Well, AV's these days tends 2 be going nuts for just about anything these days. Most of the times so is it just False Positives............ common sense is what needs 2 be used these days.

All AV's gets more or less nuts, so......... the best AV out these according to tests/evaluations is Bit Defender. Personally so have i been using Avira AV Pro for 5+ years now and it have served me very well.
